Just When You Thought Christmas Was Over
The Sunday after Christmas. Many of our halls have already been un-decked as we eye the New Year. In this teaching Josh takes us into the historic Christian tradition to remind us that Christmas is not a day, but a season. These seasons the Church calendar offers us are essential, because they help us create sacred space and time to reflect and refocus on God. So, may you have a Merry Christmas season!
Christmas Eve 2012
Each Christmas Eve at MCC we have a special candlelight service that allows us to worship, reflect, and prepare ourselves to celebrate the Christmas season. In this brief teaching, Josh invites us to experience the manger in a different way–a way that reminds us that if God would enter history in a manger, then surely he will be present in our lives as well. May the grace and peace of Christ be with you this Christmas season and always!
Love: The King Who Came Down
For the final Sunday of Advent, Josh reminds us of a beautiful truth: God is love. Yet, love demands freedom; for love to exist we must be free to choose whether we will embrace or reject it. The good news is that even when we reject this love, God still pursues us and invites us to trust and live out of his love for us.
Joy: Joy To The World
During the third week of Advent, Josh reminds us that–in the words of C.S. Lewis–“Joy is the serious business of Heaven.” Too often, however, our misconceptions of God can rob us of the joy he longs for us to have. In this teaching, Josh shares a few analogies/characteristics of God that have become meaningful along his journey.
